Grant awarded for heat recovery project

A Smart Grant has been awarded to EcoGenR8 to carry out a market assessment investigating the recovery of low grade waste heat and its viable and economic conversion into electricity. The grant was awarded by the Technology Strategy Board (TSB) with the aim of assisting businesses to engage in research and development projects in strategically important areas to enable the successful emergence of new products, processes and services.

EcoGenR8 partnered with Puntios, and Parhelian Underwriting, companies with experience in commercialising and raising finance for technology spin-outs from industry, to deliver the project which will also be assisted by and delivered through the AFECO technical team. The project will determine whether energy recovery systems, such as organic rankine cycle (ORC) engines, can be successfully matched with industrial sources of low grade waste heat, seek to identify technology solutions, priority industrial applications and build a business case for new investment into this market.
